Old unhealed wounds - deprivations and traumas - of the past are like weeds surrounding the creeper of bhakti. They drain spiritual energy. Divine therapy is a paradigm in which the spiritual journey is presented as a form of psychotherapy designed to heal the emotional wounds of early childhood and our mechanisms for coping with them.
In July of 2009 I presented a seminar on this subject, entitled Pathways To Love. The following is an edited recording of that presentation.
In Part 1 we begin with the vision, the true nature of love. We look at the means to that end: strong and steady spiritual practice. We discuss obstacles to devotion and introduce the concept of laulyam, i.e. aversions and attachments due to unconscious values/motives causing obstruction in our spiritual cultivation.

In Part 2 we focus on the origin and manifestations of the problem along with a detailed discussion of the stages of healing. The feeling of being unworthy of love is a crisis of intimacy, and Divine loving affirmation the pathway to transformation.
